The Golden Jubilee year of the lodge was well planned, but fate played its part and our celebrations were dampened by the untimely and unforeseen demise of our Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi. R.W.Bro. Dadi Bejonji Engineer was invited with his deputation from the RGLWI. I had the pleasure of installing V.W.Bro.

Framroz Nadursaw Shroff to the Eastern Chair. There were 72 brethren on the roll of the lodge at the beginning of the year. The financial position of the lodge had improved considerably over the past few years. W.Bro. Dr. Atul Modi was nominated to the Board of General Purposes and Bro. Sudhir Sheth, Bro. Tara Kishnani and Bro.

Madhawdas Narang were appointed to the Permanent Committee. Earlier, W.Bro. A.K.E. Haveliwala delivered the address to the newly installed master and W.Bro. Dr. Mehta to the wardens. A photograph of the brethren was taken in the Temple at the lodge meeting held in the month of February 1985. At the meeting in March, R.W.Bro. Dadi Bejonji Engineer, the RGM, paid an official visit. The April meeting was a ladies' night and after the meeting, and after obtaining permission, the ladies were taken to the Temple and the furniture of the lodge was shown and explained to them. During the year, on March 20, 1985, Bro. Mohamed Papar received from the R.W. the RGM a certificate for social services he had performed.

Resignation: Bro. Anapum Desai on March 18,1985. Bro.Dr. Madhukar Ganesh Bhide on January 12,1985.

Wks, was called to the Grand Lodge Above on April 11, 1985, and V. W. Bro. Dinubhai Labhsanker Bhatt P.M.; P.J.R.G.W. was called to the Grand Lodge Above on July 26, 1985. During the year, we lost three very senior and well-loved brethren, and the mood set for a joyous year was soon dampened, and we had to contend with less than the best.
