The THIRTYFOURTH INSTALLATION MEETING of Lodge Reginald Spence No.109 GLI was held on November 15, 1968 at Freemasons Hall when W.Bro. Zainulabedin  was installed master for a second time. The officers were:

Bro. JASHWANT CHIMANLAL SHAH was initiated on January 16,1968, passed on July 22,1970 and raised on December 19,1972. He resigned soon after.

Bro. ABRAHAM MANAKALATHIL CHACKO was initiated on March 19,1968, passed on September 17,1968 and raised on February 17,1970. He resigned on March 30,1972 and left Bombay permanently for Madras.

Bro. SHRIDHAR TARANATH was initiated on March 19,1968. He resigned on April 3,1968 and migrated to Calcutta.

Bro. RAOJIBHAI ZAVERBHAI PATEL was initiated on April 16,1968. He resigned on October 31,1978. Bro. ULLAL BABU RAO was initiated on April 16,1968, passed on April 15,1969 and raised on February

15,1972. He was Steward for the year 73-74. He resigned on September 25,1975.

Bro. ARUN SHAH was initiated on July 16,1968. He resigned on July 16,1968.

This year was significant as Bro. Dr. Fez Hiptoola, master elect, was suddenly taken ill and could not attend

his installation. W.Bro. Abdul Husein Zainulabedin was installed for a second time in the distinguished presence of M.W. the Grand Master, M.W.Bro. Bhogilal Chimanlal Shah and R.W. the Dy. RGM (WI), R.W.Bro. Hon'able Justice Dinshaw Pirosha Madon and the members of both deputations. At the beginning of the year there were 74 brethren on the roll of the lodge. The charity find of the lodge was sound and the same three brethren were elected to the Permanent Committee. The honorary brethren of the lodge were M.W.Bro. Bhogilal Chimanlal Shah and W.Bro. Nadurshaw Aderji Shroff. For the first time a past masters nite was held during the year. W.Bro.Dr.

Homyar Dinshaw Dastoor spoke to the brethren on 'Masonic Lodges in England' on April 19,1969.

Initiation: Mr. Gopaldas Liladhar Sampat proposed by W.Bro. Zainulabedin and seconded by W.Bro. Gangriwalla and Mr. Asgarali Badruddun Kapasi proposed by Bro. Salehbhai Sabir and seconded by Bro. Shiraz Loyawala on February 18,1968. Mr. Moiz Tayebbhai Roganwalla proposed by W.Bro. Zainulabedin and seconded by W.Bro. Gangriwalla on August 18.1969 and Dr. Abedin Abdeali Beharanwala proposed by Bro.Dr. Nooroodin Haveliwala and seconded by Bro.Dr. Yusuf Unwalla on September 16,1969.

Passing: Bro. Sharma, Bro. Ullal Rao, Bro. Sampat and Bro. Kapasi on April 15,1969.

Raising: Bro. Patel, Bro. Murad, Bro.Dr. Unwalla and Bro. Hussein were raised on January 22,1969. Bro.

Barodawala, Bro. Sharma, Bro. Khatib and Bro. Arsiwala on July 15,1969.

Resignation: W.Bro. Dara Mervanji Munshi on August 18,1969.

Bro. Ambalal Sheth was put on the absent list on August 26,1968 and he resigned on April 19,1969.

Master Elect Bro. Dr. Fez Hiptoola was called to the Grand Lodge Above on November 21,1968 and W. Bro.

Nadurshaw Aderji Shroff; P.M. on June 16,1969.

The prevalent custom was for the lodge to go into mourning for a period of 3 months. Only the agenda for a meeting was carried out and there was no Festive Board after the meeting.
