The THIRTY-NINTH INSTALLATION MEETING of Lodge Reginald Spence No. 109 GLI was held at Freemasons Hall on November 20, 1973, in the presence of R.W. the RGM, R.W. Hon'ble Justice Dinsha Pirosha Madon, and the deputation from the RGLWI.

W. Bro. Dr. Jaswantlal Gokuldas Mehta

W. Bro. Dr. Jaswantlal Gokuldas Mehta resided at Moti Sagar, 377 Keluskar Road, Shivaji Park, Bombay-28 and was an anaesthetist by profession. He has been an anaesthetist to my father and to me as well. Most of his time he spends in the early morning professionally giving anaesthesia to the patients operated by Bro. Dr. Sudhakar Sane. An excellent ritualist, a shrewd mind as far as the affairs of the lodge are concerned, he plays a major role in the well governing of the lodge by astute principles. Always ready to help when called upon, he gives considerable encouragement to young masons. He has travelled with us on some of our trips. He was initiated on August 18, 1970. Passed on April 20, 1971, and raised on February 15, 1972. Steward in 72-73; Swd. Br. 74-75; Almoner 75-76; I.G. 76-77; J.D. 77-78; S.D. 78-79; Chaplain 79-

80; J.W. 80-81 and Master in 81-82, IPM in 82-83 and 83-84; Asst. D of C. in 84-85 and Master again in 85-86; and IPM the following year. He was Asst. Secretary in 89-90 and Asst. D of C in 90-91. On his holiday to Kulu Manali, the car in which he was travelling met with a bad accident, but by the grace of the GAOTU, he and his family were safe and

he sustained a minor wrist fracture. Following this episode, he had many years ahead of him in freemasonry. He held the rank of P.A.R.G.M. with the RGLWI. Married to Usha, he had 2 children, Harish and Pankaj. His grandson is a very accomplished cricketer.

He was called to the Grand Lodge Above in 2000.

Bro. Asgerali Badruddin Kapasi was initiated on February 18, 1969, passed on April 15, 1969, and raised on April 20, 1970. He held the position of Swd. Br. in 73-74; Organist 74-75; Br. V.S.L. 75-76 and 76-77; I.G. in 77-78; Swd. Br. in 78-79; Br. V.S.L. in 79-80 and Asst. Secretary in 80-81. He resigned in a few years time.

Bro. HATIM GULAMHUSAIN KANTHAWALA was initiated on April 16, 1974, passed on March 16, 1976, and raised on January 17, 1978. He resigned on December 21, 1982.

Bro. AHMED MEDHI RAJABALLY was initiated on April 16, 1974. He was excluded in September 1976.

Bro. THEODORE FRANCISCO MACHADO was initiated on April 16, 1974, passed on March 19, 1975. He was excluded later on.

Bro. RASHID ABDEALI DALDA was initiated on April 16, 1974, passed on August 20, 1974, and raised on July 15, 1975. He was Steward in 77-78 and resigned on August 22, 1979.

Bro. Dr. YUSUFI ALIBHAI CHANDAWALA was initiated on September 17, 1974, passed on March 18, 1975, and raised on February 17, 1976. He resigned on April 30, 1978.

R.W. Bro. Noshir Mehta, W. the Dy. RGM (WI) and the deputation were invited. Bro. Salehbhai Sabir was installed in the Eastern Chair by W. Bro. Firoz Siamwala. There were 9 visitors present and 78 brethren on the roll of the lodge. The charity and financial position was good and W. Bro. Dr. Dastoor delivered the address to the newly installed master.                          W. Bro. Salehbhai Sabir to the wardens.                                                                 Bro. Neemuchwala were appointed to the Permanent Committee. W. Bro. Dinubhai Bhatt was nominated to the Board of General Purposes.

Moshin Doctor on April 16, 1974. Dr. Yusuf Alibhai Chandabhai proposed by W. Bro. Zainulabedin and seconded by W. Bro. Sabir on September 19, 1974.

The 200th Anniversary of Freemasonry in India was celebrated on April 16, 1974.

The Masonic Silver Jubilee of W. Bro. Jamshed Rustomji Jhabwala and W. Bro. Jimi Dhunjibhoy Mistry was celebrated on March 14, 1974.
