The FORTYSEVENTH INSTALLATION MEETING of Lodge Reginald Spence No.109 GLI was held at Freemasons Hall on November 17,1981. This was the last official installation visit of R.W. the RGM, R.W.Bro. Noshir Nowrojee Mehta. The officers were:

W. Bro. Mohamedi Karimbhoy Bootwala
is an officer with an insurance company. He was born on January 25, 1929. He was initiated on March 18, 1980, passed on September 16, 1980 and raised on December 16, 1980. Bro. Bootwala gradually progressed in the lodge both in ritual working as well as offices he held. He had to be coaxed initially but with time he became a fine ritualist.
He travelled with us to Salem and was very popular with the brethren. The offices he held were Almoner 81-82; Organist 82-83; I.G. 83-84; Asst. Secretary 84-85; S.D. 86-87; Chaplain 87-88; J.W. 88-89 and S.W. 89-90. Master in 90-91 and IPM the next year. He was keeping indifferent health and he was called to the Grand Lodge Above.
W. Bro. Asger Fidaali Kakdawalla
was born on August 23, 1934. A timber merchant by profession. He was initiated on August 19, 1980, passed on January 20, 1981 and raised on February 17, 1981. An outspoken brother, he is a very good mason and also a good ritualist. He was with us in Salem and gave a good demonstration as S.W. at Lodge Montford No. 249 GLI. He was Swd. Br. 81-82; Asst. Secretary 82-83; I.G. 85-86; J.D. 87-88; S.D. 88-89; J.W. 90-91 and S.W. 91-92 and 92-93. Master in 93-94, IPM the next year. Residing at Helal Building, Dr. Mascarhenas Road, Mazagaon. Married to Zehra on November 7, 1974. He has 3 children: Tasneem, Farida and Abbas. His interest is in social activities.
There were 74 brethren on the roll of the lodge. Earlier on, W.Bro. Shabbir Abdul Husein installed Bro. Dr. Jaswantlal Gokuldas Mehta with grace and dignity to the Eastern Chair. R.W.Bro. Dr. Dastoor addressed the newly installed master and V.W.Bro. Framroz Shroff to the wardens. The funds of the lodge were in good measure thanks to the efforts of W.Bro. Siamwala. V.W.Bro. Framroz Shroff was voted to the Board of General Purposes and Bro. Suresh Sheth, Bro. Kishnani, and Bro. Sudhir Sheth were appointed to the Permanent Committee.

W.Bro. Mama was put on the absent list on November 17,1981 and W.Bro. Eisa requested to be put on the absent list temporarily.
