The FOURTEENTH INSTALLATION MEETING of Lodge Reginald Spence No.5514 EC was held on November 16,1948. The officers for the year were:

W. Bro. Haji Abbubakar Haji Eisa

W. Bro. Haji Abbubakar Haji Eisa, proposed by W.Bro.Dr. Homyar Dastoor and seconded by Bro. M.A. Kazerani is the senior most brother of the lodge. He has been be presented with a 50 years long term service jewel. His association with the lodge has always been very sincere. For business reasons,on several occasions he had to leave Bombay and and stay in London and other places. He is a very active member well versed with the ritual working and very punctual in attendance. He was initiated on January 20,1942, passed on April 21,1942 and raised on May 29,1942 at an emergency meeting. He resided at Aziz Manzil, 26 Club Back Road, Byculla, Bombay and now stays at Poonawala Compound, Mahim. He was born on June 18,1916 and is a landlord. He has a son who is a film producer and his daughter-in-law is a highly sussesful model and on a part-time basis a very highly placed stewardess with Delta  Airlines. He has a very enviable Masonic Career.

He was I.G. in 1948-49; J.D. in 1949-50; S.D. in 1950-51 and 1951-52. Secretary in 1952-53; Chaplin in 1953-54; J.W. in 1954-55 and S.W. in 1955-56. He was installed in the Eastern Chair on November 20,1956 and was the IPM the next year. He has filled on many occasions the other officers' chairs. Ill health and the loss of hearing prevented him from attending the lodge in later life. He received the 60 years Long Term Service Jewel in April 2007. He was accorded P.Asst.R.G.D of C in 1973 and P.S.R.G.W. in the year 1983. Married to Almas on July 14,1965 he has 2 daughters and 3 sons from both the marriages. His interests are Cricket, Hockey, Boxing Wrestling and Reading. He was shortly called to the Grand Lodge Above.

W.Bro. Yahya Mohamedally Degani

W.Bro. Yahya Mohamedally Degani, proposed by W.Bro. A.E. Haveliwala and seconded by W.Bro. A.K.E. Haveliwala is today the second most senior brother of Lodge Reginald Spence No.5514 EC. Born in Surat on January 28,1912, he in an insurance agent with the unlimited and highest limit to take insurance cover. Incidentally he is the insurance advisor to the Modi family. He, at one time resided at Noor Palace, 101 Mohamedalli Road, Bombay and has now moved to Potia Estate, near the S.T.Bus Terminus at Bombay Central. A very respected member of the community and a very obliging person, he regularly attends the meetings of the lodge but on some occasions he is a little late due to business commitments. He is a member of the Radio Club. One is often invited there and he is an excellent host.

Initiated on January 18,1944 he was passed to the degree of fellowcraft freemason on June 20,1944 and was raised on March 25,1945. A very proficient ritualist and conversant with the byelaws of the lodge, his first office was that of Steward on November 16,1948. Organist after two years and I.G. the following, he was appointed J.D. on November 20,1952; S.D. in 1953-54; Asst. Secretary in 1954-55; Secretary in 1955-56; Chaplin in 1956-57. On November 19,1957 he was made the S.W. of the lodge. Installed in the Eastern Chair on November 18,1958, he was IPM the following year. Asst. D of C in 1961-62, 1966-67 and 1971-72. He has been given the rank of P.Asst.G.I.G. with the GLI in 1980 and P.R.G.D of C in 1979. His son Amin is a doctor of metallurgy, his elder daughter is working in a bank in Toronto, Canada and his younger daughter is assisting him in his business. He was called to the Grand Lodge Above. During the year a few brethren left the lodge.

Bro. KESHAVCHANDRA AMANCHAND DALAL was admitted at the age of 26 years on December 16,1947, passed on April 20,1948 and raised on September 21,1948. He resigned on June11,1951.

Bro. DAWOOD MOHAMEDALI TAVAWALLA was 30 years old when he was initiated in Lodge Reginald Spence No.5514 EC. He had an export and import business at M/S Dawood an Co., Nagdevi Street. Initiated on December 16,1947, passed on April 20,1948 and raised on August 17,1948. He resigned from the lodge on April 21,1956.

Bro. SEVANTILAL CHUNILAL SHAH was 28 when he was admitted to the lodge. A cotton and share broker residing at Krishna Nivas, 58 Walkeshwar Road. He was initiated on January 20,1948, passed on January 18,1949 and raised on May 20,1952. He resigned from the lodge on April 23,1953.

Bro. ABDEALLY ABDUL HOOSEIN admitted at the age of 37 years was initiated on June 15,1948, passed on July 20,1948 and raised on February 15,1949. He was called to the Grand Lodge Above on March 4,1967.

Bro. NARINDER NATH SOOD was initiated on April 19,1949, passed on May 17,1949 and raised on June 21,1949. He resigned on April 20,1957.
