The EIGHTEENTH INSTALLATION MEETING of Lodge Reginald Spence No.5514 EC was held on November 20,1952. The office bearers for the year were:

W. Bro. Moshin Mohamedbhai Doctor

W. Bro. Moshin Mohamedbhai Doctor was a senior mason when I was initiated and I knew him and remember him well. An excellent ritualist, he always had the interest of the lodge at heart. On numerous occasions he disagreed with the rest, only to put the brethren on the right path. He was born on November 29,1912 and was a partner in Standard Drums & Buckets Mfg. Co. Ltd. He resided at Badri Mahal, Jijabai Dadabhai Lane, Fort, Bombay. He moved his residence to Forjett Street, Bombay and later on in life to Bandra. Even from here he was very regular and his presence at lodge meeting could be always be relied upon.

He was initiated on April 16,1946, passed on May 21,1946 and he was raised to the sublime degree of master mason on June 18,1946. His progress in the lodge was very regular and he was Steward in the year 1952-53; Organist in 1953-54; Almoner in 1954-55; J.D. in 1955-56; S.D. in 1956-57; Asst. Secretary in 1957-58; Chaplin in 1958-59; and Steward in 1959-60; J.W. in 1969-61 and S.W. in 1961-62. He was installed in the Eastern Chair on November 20,1962. The next year he was IPM and he looked after the finances of the lodge from the year 1969-70 to the year 1974-75. In the year 1984-85 when I was the IPM he was the S.W.of the lodge. Even with increasing age and the distance he had to travel W.Bro. Moshin was still regular. He slowly became hard of hearing and on a couple of occasions he was laid down because of ill health. He had received the rank of P.Dy.G.Regr. and P.Dy.R.G.M. He was called to the Grand Lodge Above on January 21,1991.

W. Bro. Jamshed Rustomji Jhabwala

W. Bro. Jamshed Rustomji Jhabwala is today the third most senior brother of Lodge Reginald Spence No. 109 GLI. He is known to be a very unasuming and a jovial brother, always prepared to do any working. But his forte is that of I.G. when he is responsible to train the newly made brother in performing their task perfectly. Always very regular, except for a short period when he had a surgical operation, Bro. Jhabwala is missed even when he is a little late for a meeting. He was proposed by W.Bro.Dr. B. E. Daruwala and seconded by W.Bro.Dr. Marazban Hakim. He was 30 years old when he was initiated on March 16,1948. Passed on May 18,1948 and raised on September 21,1948. His first office was that of Steward in the years 1952-53 and 1953-54. Organist in 1954-55; he was I.G. in 1955-56; J.D. in 1956-57; S.D. on April 16,1957; Asst. Secretary in 1958-59; Secretary in 1959-60; Chaplin in 1960-61; J.W. in 1961-62 and S.W. in 1962-63. He was installed in the Eastern Chair on November 19,1963 and was IPM the following year. Again I.G. in 1977-78 and 1984-85. Bro. Jamshed has been given the rank of P.A.R.G.I.G. in 1967-68; P.S.R.G.D. in 1984-85; P.R.G. Registrar in 1986-87; P.G.Std.Br. in 1990-91 and P.S.R.G.W. in 1992-93. Due to ill health he could not receive the 50 years Long Term Service Jewel and the R.W. the Regional Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Saleh Huseni Doctor went to his residence to present it to him. Married to Gool on May 6,1964 he has two daughters, Roshan age 40 and Firooza age 38 years. His interests are sports. For a number of year he was with the prestigious firm of Mulla and Mulla, Craige and Blunt and Caroe. He was called to the Grand Lodge Above shortly.
