Installation, Silver Jubilee of RW Bro Sir Reginald Spence, Amendment to bye laws
The TWENTYFOURTH INSTALLATION MEETING of Lodge Reginald Spence No.5514 EC was held at Freemasons Hall, Bombay on November 18,1958. The officers for the year were:

W. Bro. Ashok Kumar Girdharlal Fozdar was born on March 17, 1937 and became a freemason whilst he was still a student. The son of W.Bro. Girdharlal Karsondas Fozdar he was proposed by W.Bro. Fozdar. He was initiated on June 21,1995, passed on August 16,1955 and raised to the degree of master mason on March 20,1956. His first office was Steward on November 18,1958. He was the Organist of the lodge in 60-61; Almoner in 61-62; J.D. in 62-63; S.D. in 63-64, Asst. Secretary in 65-66; Secretary in 66-67; J.W. in 67-68; and S.W. in 68-69. He was installed in the Eastern Chair on November 18,1969. He was IPM the next year. Almoner for the year 84-85. Though irregular because of his business as a stock broker he is present at every installation meeting or any other meeting when his presence is required. He is invested with the rank of P.R.G.I.G.
Bro. THANUIER VIDYANATH DORAISWAMY was a joining member from Lodge Deolali No.3710 EC on January 20,1959. He resigned from the lodge on April 1,1973.
Bro. SAIFFUDIN HASHIM SALEBHOY residing at Badri Mahal, Dr. D.N. Road, Bombay. He was initiated on January 20,1959. He was excluded on April 18,1861.
Bro. ABDUL REHMAN HAJI EBRAHIM CHOWDHRY was a joining brother from Lodge Al Ameen No.1412 SC. He joined on February 17,1959. He was Steward on November 17,1961; Br. VSL. On November 20,1062; Organist in 64-65; I.G. in 65-66; and J.D. on November 15,1966. He was called to the Grand Lodge Above on April 27,1971.
Bro. OOSMAN M. AHMED FURNIUREWALA was initiated on October 20,1959, passed on September 20,1960 and raised on July 18,1961. He resigned from the lodge on May 25,1968.
Bro. ESMAIL MOHAMEDI TAYEBJI was initiated on October 20,1959, passed on July 18,1960 and raised on 16,1961. He resigned on April 16,1962.
Bro. DEVENDRA KUMAR MALHOTRA was a joining member on October 20,1959. He was member of Lodge Phulkian No.3764 EC at Patiala. He resigned from the lodge on April 16,1962.
This year the lodge has several developments.
W. the Deputy District Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Bhogilal Chimanlal Shah and the deputation from the District Grand Lodge of Bombay were present in numbers. Bro. Yahya Mohamedally Degani was installed in the Chair of King Solomon in a very solemn and dignified manner by W.Bro. Dinubhai Labhshanker Bhatt. There were 17 visitors at the installation meeting. At the beginning of the year there were 52 members on the role of the lodge. The finances of the lodge were in good shape with Rs. 10,000 in 3% government securities. W.Brethren J.P.C.Shroff, Dr. H.D.Dastoor, N.G. Shah, G.K. Fozdar and A.H. Eisa had their own charity fund to the collective amounted Rs. 13.200/-.
This year the Masonic Golden Jubilee of Rt.W.Bro. Sir Reginald A. Spence Kt, P.G.D. (Eng), P.Dist.G.M. was celebrated and a telegram congratulating him was sent on December 1,1958.

Rt.W.Bro. Bhogilal Chimanlal Shah was given the Office of Rt.W.Bro. the District Grand Master of Bombay and Northern India from March 1,1958.
There was an amendment to the bye laws and the May. June and October meeting of Lodge Reginald Spence No. 5514 EC was hereafter abandoned. The lodge would meet nine times every year henceforth. The Election meeting of the lodge was advanced to the month of September.
Initiations: Mr. Saiffudin Hashim Salebhoy, proposed by W.Bro. Y.M. Degani and seconded by W.Bro. Bhaidas Rugnathdas Shroff. He was initiated on January 20,1959. Dr. Noorodin Esufali Haveliwala, proposed by Bro. Amiruddin Esufali Haveliwala and seconded by Bro. Abdul Kaiyum Haveliwala, was initiated on September 15,1959. Mr. Abdul Rehman Chaudhry was initiated on September 15,1959. Mr. Oosman M. Ahmed Furniturewala was initiated on October 20,1959.
Passing: Bro. Hassan Motiwala was passed on December 16,1959. Raising: Bro. Hassan Motiwala was raised on March 17,1960.
Bro. Tayeb Abedali Attari informed the lodge by letter he was leaving India to settle in Aden. W.Bro. Bhaidas Shroff was nominated to the Board of General Purposes. Bro. S.M.Sicka and Bro. A.S. Mastook resigned from the lodge.
